Hydroxyethyl carboxymethyl cellulose /HECMC

HECMC is a kind of modified water-soluble cellulose ether with the advantage of both carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) because of the presence of the nonionic hydroxyethyl groups.

1, High water-binding capacity and good flocculating action on suspended solids just like CMC, and more compatible than CMC with salts.

2, Higher viscosity because of its superior capability to cross-link with multivalent cations.

3, it can be easily gelled by cross-linking with cations such as iron, aluminum, chromium to supply an efficient media for suspending particulate matter.
