Potassium dichromate is orange-red triclinic crystal. Non-hydroscopic, water-soluble, toxic, strong oxidizer, flammable in friction or collision with organic compounds.

Potassium dichromate is used for manufacture of chrome oxide, potassium chromate, chrome yellow pigment, welding rods, matches and chromic potassium sulfate; surface passivation of steel; chemicals reagent and oxidant
